escape in NYC at 11 Howard

11 Howard is one of those hotels that makes me wish I didn't live in NYC, so that I could have a valid excuse to stay there all the time. With Anda Andrei's and Space Copenhagen's designs, one feels like they have been transported straight to Copenhagen's Latin Quarter. The interior is soothingly minimal in subdued colors and design. 11 Howard's library is a cozy and chic place to work, read or catch up with a friend. Although I'll be honest, I'm partial to any space housing works by Hiroshi Sugimoto.

You don't have to go far from the hotel to access top notch design stores; Studio Oliver Gustav is located just next door to the hotel (with access via the hotel's lobby) and you can easily lose yourself for a few hours in BDDW just across the street.

Pop into Le Coucou, located on the property, for a meal or to linger over coffee with a friend. It's worth a relaxing meal to admire the unique decor and abundance of natural light.
